Education is a key to the success of Rick's Place. The program operates under the four basic principles of grief as outlined by Sandra Fox, a renowned childhood grief specialist and founder of the “Good Grief” program:

1. Grieving is a natural response to change, loss and the death of a close family member or friend

2. Grief is individual and has its own time and duration

3. Within each individual, whether child or adult, is the natural ability to heal oneself

4. Caring and acceptance assist in the healing process

With the generous support of the Wing Memorial Foundation, Reelife Productions made our NEW VIDEO. Enjoy! Please help us spread the word and tell others...

In addition, Rick's Place attempts to educate parents, guardians and caregivers about the unique nature of childhood grief. One of the most important aspects of childhood grief education is to realize that grieving children do not always appear sad. Rick's Place allows for this type of grieving, providing joyful as well as solemn ways for young people to remember and commemorate their loved ones.
